Spring Foraging with Puck's Plenty

By now the Wild Asparagus has gone to flower but Nature has provided us with a backup. The young Milkweed Shoots are absolutely delicious sauteed or steamed. Eaten raw they are quite bitter however covering them in cold water and then bring to a boil eliminates the bitterness and you are set to go. Like many wild edible plants we caution against over harvesting. In the case of Milkweed it is because of their importance in attracting butterflies especially the Monarch.

Beautiful trails await us only fifteen minutes from Stratford where we will also harvest cattail hearts, wild leek bulbs, Platterful and Dryad Saddle mushrooms and more.

Cost: $35/Per person
